Premenstrual Dysphoria and Luteal Stress in Dominant-Social-Status Female Macaques

Effect of isolation-induced stress during the luteal phase on the fluctuating patterns of serum progesterone levels in young dominant-social-status female rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta). Day 1 represents the first day of the first menstrual cycle since the beginning of the experiment. Day 7 (2) represents the seventh day of the second menstrual cycle since the beginning of the experiment, and so forth. The time line of the menstrual cycle and experiment is as described in Figure 2. Values represent the mean ± SE (bars) of results for all ten monkeys ( , ). All samples were measured in the same assay.
