Grape-Derived Polyphenols Prevent Doxorubicin-Induced Blunted EDH-Mediated Relaxations in the Rat Mesenteric Artery: Role of ROS and Angiotensin II

RWPs treatment prevents the doxorubicin-induced vascular oxidative stress and upregulation of eNOS expression in the mesenteric artery. Mesenteric arterial sections were exposed to the redox-sensitive fluorescent dye DHE for 30 min at 37°C. Thereafter, ethidium fluorescence was determined by confocal microscopy. The expression level of eNOS was determined by immunofluorescence. Left panels represent ethidium (a) and immunofluorescent (b) staining, and right panels represent corresponding cumulative data. Results are shown as mean ± SEM of 3 to 4 different rats. indicates a significant effect versus control rats, and versus doxorubicin-treated rats.
