Mat inhibited MCP-1 production in NPCs and HSCs. (a) NPCs were isolated from CCl4-injured livers and stimulated with LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h in the absence or presence of the indicated concentrations of Mat. MCP-1 levels in the supernatants were measured by ELISA. (b) HSCs were isolated from CCl4-injured livers and stimulated with TNF-α (30 ng/mL) for 24 h in the absence or presence of Mat. MCP-1 mRNA levels were measured by real-time PCR. Data were obtained from 3 independent experiments and presented as mean ± (SD). versus LPS or TNF-α alone;   versus nontreatment control group.
