Trans-β-Caryophyllene: An Effective Antileishmanial Compound Found in Commercial Copaiba Oil (Copaifera spp.)

Antipromastigote activity of copaiba oils. Leishmania amazonensis promastigotes were treated once with different compounds at 50 μg/mL or with DMSO 0.5% (vehicle). The antipromastigote effect was measured by counting of viable parasites for five days. Results from five experiments are shown as the number of promastigotes ± SEM. .
