<i>Trans</i>-<i>β</i>-Caryophyllene: An Effective Antileishmanial Compound Found in Commercial Copaiba Oil (<i>Copaifera</i> spp.)

<table>Antiamastigote activity of C4 oil, volatile (VF), nonvolatile (NVF) fractions, and <i>β</i>-caryophyllene (CAR). Murine peritoneal macrophages were infected with <i>Leishmania amazonensis</i> for 24 h and then treated with the indicated concentrations of the compounds. Amphotericin B (AmB) at 1 <i>μ</i>g/mL and 0.5% DMSO (vehicle) were evaluated as controls.
