Effect of [6]-gingerol on MMP activity in PANC-1 cells. Cells were cultured in the absence or presence of the compound for 24 h. Cell-free medium was collected and MMP activity was measured by gelatin zymography. Protease activity was quantified by densitometry using L Process and MultiGauge software and normalized relative to the control and background. Data represent the mean ± SD from three independent experiments. Statistical analysis (Student's -test) was performed using GraphPad Prism 5. * versus the untreated control.
