Clearance of Free Silica in Rat Lungs by Spraying with Chinese Herbal Kombucha

Experimental groups and treatments.

Chinese herbal kombucha treatment groupStarting four days after being injected with silica, the rats were sprayed with Chinese herbal kombucha. Each rat was sprayed 20 times in the morning and 20 times in the afternoon for five consecutive days per week, over a four-week period.
Kombucha treatment groupStarting four days after being injected with silica, the rats were sprayed with non-Chinese herbal kombucha. Each rat was sprayed 20 times in the morning and in the afternoon for five consecutive days per week, over a four-week period.
Tetrandrine treatment groupThe rats were treated with tetrandrine by lavage. Each rat was dosed with 15 mg three times per week for four weeks.
Positive control groupStarting four days after being injected with silica, the rats were sprayed with a 1 g/L solution of NaCl. Each rat was sprayed 20 times in the morning and 20 times in the afternoon for five consecutive days per week, over a four-week period.

Negative control groupSynchronously operated with the positive control group, at the fourth day of instilled with silica. Each rat was sprayed 20 times continuously once in the morning and once in the afternoon for five consecutive days for four weeks.
