Protective Effects of Huang-Lian-Jie-Du-Tang against Polymicrobial Sepsis Induced by Cecal Ligation and Puncture in Rats

HLJDT modulates Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokine profile in spleens of septic rats. Rats were orally administrated with 270 mg/kg of HLJDT or vehicle at 2 h prior to CLP or sham surgery. The spleen samples were harvested at 4, 12, and 24 h after CLP. The relative mRNA levels of IFN-γ (a), IL-4 (b), IL-17A (c), and ROR-γt (d) were analyzed by qRT-PCR. Data are mean ± SEM of 6 rats/group, *𝑃<0.05 versus CLP control, ^#𝑃<0.05 versus sham control.
