Effect of HCY2/UA pretreatment on myocardial I/R injury in male and female rats ex vivo. Animals were orally treated with vehicle (olive oil) or HCY2/UA (at the indicated doses) for 14 consecutive days. Isolated hearts were subjected to I/R challenge as described in Section 2. The extent of tissue injury was assessed by the measurement of LDH leakage.
