Butein Inhibits Angiogenesis of Human Endothelial Progenitor Cells via the Translation Dependent Signaling Pathway

Effect of butein on tube formation of EPCs. Cells were plated on Matrigel-coated plates in the presence of MV2 complete medium containing 10% FBS (a) or 20 ng/mL VEGF (b) with various concentrations of butein, and tubular morphogenesis was recorded by the inverted phase contrast microscope. Tube formation was quantified by measuring the length of tubes in three random fields per well with the use of Image-Pro Plus and was calculated against DMSO control. Data are expressed as mean ±SEM of four independent experiments. ^∗𝑃<0.05,^∗∗𝑃<0.01 compared with the control group.
