S-[6]-Gingerol rapidly increases levels in HuH-7 cells. HuH-7 cells were cultured in Poly-D-lysine coated 96-well plates and loaded with fluo-4/AM calcium dye. DMSO is vehicle control. (a) HuH-7 cells were exposed to S-[6]-gingerol (50 μM and 100 μM). (b) HuH-7 cells were incubated with 2 mM EGTA for 2 min, and then 100 μM S-[6]-gingerol was added.
