Effects of Chronic Electroacupuncture on Depression- and Anxiety-Like Behaviors in Rats with Chronic Neuropathic Pain

Figure 2

Effects of EA and fluoxetine on depression-like behaviors in CCI rats. Comparing with the normal rats, the rats subjected to CCI displayed a significant increase in the immobile time and a reduction in the climbing time at day 7 and day 21 after the CCI surgery. (a, b) Chronic EA at GV20–GB34 significantly shorten the immobile time of CCI rats but had no effect on the time of climbing behaviors. The data are expressed as the . ( versus normal rats. versus model group). (c, d) Chronic fluoxetine administration at both 10 and 30 mg/kg statistically reduced the immobile behaviors of CCI rats, respectively. Only the treatment of fluoxetine at 30 mg/kg increased the time spent in climbing behaviors. The data are expressed as the . ( versus normal rats. versus group).
