Effect of PTL on hPDLC gene expression. (a) Expression of inflammatory genes (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α); (b) expression of osteoclastogenic genes (M-CSF, RANKL, and OPG). hPDLCs were treated with PTL (1 and 5 μM) for 1 and 3 days and then total RNA was collected. After RNA extraction, first strand cDNA was synthesized. The cDNA sample was then amplified using qRT-PCR. The expression of the target gene was first normalized to 18S and then further converted to the percentage of the control (containing medium only).
