Centella asiatica Attenuates Diabetes Induced Hippocampal Changes in Experimental Diabetic Rats

The levels of lipid peroxidation (LPO) product and antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, and GPx) in hippocampal homogenates. LPO level was the highest in diabetic rats. Meanwhile, the levels of SOD, CAT, and GPx were the lowest in diabetic rat hippocampus. Treatment with C. asiatica leaf extract reversed changes in these parameters in diabetic rat hippocampus. as compared to normal, nondiabetic rats; as compared to nontreated diabetic rats.
