Anticoagulant Activity of Polyphenolic-Polysaccharides Isolated from Melastoma malabathricum L.

Molecular mass of active anticoagulant fractions of F1, F2, and F3 was purified through solid phase extraction (SPE) from Melastoma malabathricum Linn. leaf hot water extract. Molecular mass was determined by gel permeable chromatography. There were three distinguishable peaks identified from the gel permeable chromatogram of each fraction and which was labelled as Peak 1, Peak 2, and Peak 3. A set of dextran standards was used for molecular mass determination of the three peaks. Values are expressed as mean ± S.E.M. ().
