A Study on the Effect of Neurogenesis and Regulation of GSK3β/PP2A Expression in Acupuncture Treatment of Neural Functional Damage Caused by Focal Ischemia in MCAO Rats

Figure 2

Acupuncture attenuated neural functional deficit. Neural deficit score (NDS) was employed for evaluating the neural functional deficit ( ). The lower the score is, the worse the damage is. There were significant differences among MCAO groups: no-acupuncture group got higher scores than model group (★ ) suggesting a “self-repairing” ability of MCAO rats. Acupuncture group got the highest scores in MCAO group while lower scores in model and no-acupuncture group (▲ ) which meant that acupuncture attenuated neural damage after MCAO but did not reach to a normal level.
