A Study on the Effect of Neurogenesis and Regulation of GSK3β/PP2A Expression in Acupuncture Treatment of Neural Functional Damage Caused by Focal Ischemia in MCAO Rats

Analysis of the mRNA expression of nestin by real-time PCR: (a) melting curve of nestin by real-time PCR, (b) relative expression of nestin mRNA in cortex, hippocampus, and striatum ( ) shows in bar graphs: rare expression of nestin was found in normal and sham-operated group in brain. Nestin mRNA expression of model group greatly increased in striatum and slightly increased in cortex followed by hippocampus. However, expression tendency was different in no-acupuncture group: enhanced in cortex and hippocampus but suppressed in striatum which supposed to be a “self-repairing” control group. Acupuncture group got the highest expression of nestin mRNA in cortex versus other MCAO groups (▲ ) while higher in hippocampus (▲ ) and less in striatum.
