Icariin Prevents Amyloid Beta-Induced Apoptosis via the PI3K/Akt Pathway in PC-12 Cells

Protective effects of icariin on Aβ_25–35-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells. (a) Proapoptotic effect of Aβ_25–35. After treatment with the following concentrations of Aβ_25–35, cell apoptosis was evaluated by Annexin V/PI staining: (A) 0 μM, (B) 10 μM, (C) 20 μM, (D) 30 μM, or (E) 40 μM. (b) Protective effect of icariin against Aβ_25–35-induced apoptosis. After 1 h pretreatment with icariin (0, 2.5, 5, 10, or 20 μM), PC12 cells were treated with 20 μM Aβ_25–35 for 24 h.
