Male db/db mice (~6 weeks old) were randomly divided into two groups (10/group) and received the following treatment: group 1 (control), mice were fed normal chow; group 2 (NXT), mice were fed the chow containing NXT (624 mpk) for ~14 weeks. Wild type mice on normal chow were used as nondiabetic or normal control. The blood samples were collected at the indicated time points for determination of blood glucose levels as described in Section 2. ^*Significantly different from control db/db mice at ().
