Effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Chemotherapy-Induced Myelosuppression and Febrile Neutropenia in Breast Cancer Patients

The rates of severe chemotherapy-induced neutropenia (Grades III-IV) for the entire propensity-matched patients in different stages. After matching, in stages 1 and 3, patients in group 1 had a higher rate of severe neutropenia compared to patients in group 2 (24% versus 19%, ; 14% versus 11%, , resp.). However, in stage 2, patients in group 2 had a significantly higher rate of severe neutropenia compared to patients in group 1 (48% versus 34%, ). Tumor stage: 1 indicates stage I; 2 indicates stage II; 3 indicates stages III and IV.
