Pancreatic tissue slice from a normal control mouse (a) showed the normal tissue structure. The tissue slice from streptozotocin-induced diabetic mouse (b) showed abnormal morphology of islets. The tissue sections from type 2 diabetic mice that received the AcOEt extract (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, and 400 mg/kg; (c), (d), and (e), resp.) or EtOH extract (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, and 400 mg/kg; (g), (h), and (i), resp.) exhibited the increased size and cell number of islets.
