Validation of a RP-HPLC-DAD Method for Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) Preparations and Assessment of the Marker, Apigenin-7-glucoside, Safety and Anti-Inflammatory Effect

TNF-α production by mouse macrophages after treatment with apigenin-7-glucoside (APG). BMDMs cells were pretreated with LPS (1 μg/mL) during 4 hours and then exposed to different concentrations of the flavonoid (3, 30, and 300 μg/mL) for additional 12 hours. The TNF-α production was monitored in the cells supernatant by ELISA assay. Bars represent means ± SD of results obtained with triplicate samples. Asterisks indicate statistical significance between not treated and treated cells with the flavonoid (; one-way ANOVA and Dunnett’s test). “Not treated” indicates cells that were not treated with LPS.
