Effects of sitosterol and vitexin isolated from the H and EA fractions of Pereskia bleo Kunth leaves on the glutamate-induced licking model. Controls groups were composed of vehicle. Results were presented as mean ± S.D. (–10) of the time (in seconds) that the animal spent biting or licking the glutamate-injected paw. Statistical significance was calculated by ANOVA with Bonferroni’s test where when comparing sitosterol- or vitexin-treated mice with vehicle-treated group.
