Induction of Thioredoxin Reductase 1 by Korean Red Ginseng Water Extract Regulates Cytoprotective Effects on Human Endothelial Cells

<div>Terminal transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay of TrxR1 inhibition in KRG-stimulated HUVECs. KRG 1 mg/mL treated HUVECs were pretreated for 1 h with or without 2 <i>μ</i>M auranofin, followed 1 h by treatment with 100 <i>μ</i>M H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>. After 18 h of incubation, the protective effect of KRG on H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced cell death in HUVECs and its blockage by the TrxR1 inhibitor, auranofin, were determined by the TUNEL assay DAPI, 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole.</div>
