Colchicum autumnale in Patients with Goitre with Euthyroidism or Mild Hyperthyroidism: Indications for a Therapeutic Regulative Effect—Results of an Observational Study

Inclusion criteria.

Group 1: goitre and subclinical or mild hyperthyroidismGroup 2: euthyroid goitre

(i) Thyroid volume > 18 mL (female), >25 mL (male)
(ii) TSH ≤ 0.4 mU/L
(iii) Peripheral euthyroidism (fT3: 2.2–4.7 pg/mL; fT4: 0.6–1.8 ng/100 mL) or mild hyperthyroidism (fT3 ≤ 6 pg/mL, fT4 < 2.5 ng/100 mL)
(i) Thyroid volume > 18 mL (female), >25 mL (male)
(ii) TSH: 0.5–4 mU/L
(iii) Peripheral euthyroidism (fT3: 2.2–4.7 pg/ml; fT4: 0.6–1.8 ng/100 ml)

Age > 18

TSH: thyroid stimulating hormone, fT3: free triiodothyronine, and fT4: free thyroxine.
