L-malate (LM) increases expression of total Nrf2 and nuclear Nrf2 protein and HO-1, NQO-1 protein after MIRI and decreases expression of Keap1 protein. Expression of total Nrf2, nuclear Nrf2, HO-1, NQO-1, and Keap1 was measured, with Western blot. Densitometric analysis was performed with Quantity One software 24 h later. Data are presented as means ± SD from 3 experiments. versus model.
