Methanol and Butanol Extracts of Paeonia lutea Leaves Repress Metastasis of Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Effects of P. lutea leaf extracts on cell adhesion to ECMs. SAS cells were grown in a monolayer culture in the presence or absence (control) of methanol (ME), ethyl acetate (EA), butanol (BU), butanol-insoluble (BW), and water (W) extracts of P. lutea leaves at 10 to 100 μg/mL. After 3 d, the cells were subjected to adhesion (a), wound healing (b), and migration (c) assays for ECM (type I collagen (Col I), fibronectin (FN), and BSA) or an uncoated surface (Uncoat). 10% FBS was used as a chemoattractant or not (—) in the migration assay (c).
