Effects of punicalagin and ellagic acid on cell viability and cell adhesiveness of THP-1 cells stimulated by PM10. THP-1 cells were treated with PM10 in the absence or presence of a test compound, followed by incubation for 24 h. Cell viabilities are presented as percentages of viable cells per total cells (a). The treated monocytes were fluorescence-labeled and coincubated with EA.hy926 endothelial cells to monitor cell-cell adhesion (b). Typical microscopic images of fluorescing monocytes adhered on the endothelial cells are shown (c). Data are expressed as percentages of the control value.
