Inhibition of MEK signaling suppresses the combination-induced neurofilament expression of cultured PC12 cells. (a) Cultured PC12 cells were pretreated with or without MEK inhibitor PD98059 (20 μm) for 5 h and then cotreated with the combination of asiatic acid (14.4 μM) and madecassic acid (40.8 μM) and NGF (50 ng/mL) for 72 h. The cell lysates were collected to determine the expression of NF68 and NF200. GAPDH served as loading control. (b) Quantification plot is shown in histograms. Data are expressed as the fold of change (100% of Basal) against the control, mean ± SEM, , pooled from four independent experiments.
