Oleuropein Protects Cardiomyocyte against Apoptosis via Activating the Reperfusion Injury Salvage Kinase Pathway In Vitro

<div>Oleuropein increased phosphorylation of Akt (a) and ERK1/2 (b) in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes subjected to SI/R. The effects of oleuropein were blocked by LY294002 (PI3K inhibitor) or U0126 (ERK inhibitor). Total ERK1/2 and Akt levels were not significantly different among the groups.
