Icariin Prevents IL-1β-Induced Apoptosis in Human Nucleus Pulposus via the PI3K/AKT Pathway

As shown above, IL-1β could induce mitochondrial swelling and membrane breakup and icariin could protect cells from this damage. LY294002 could attenuate the protecting effect and be an independent damage factor in the process of IL-1β-induced mitochondria damage.
