Optimization of Phenolic Compounds Extraction from Flax Shives and Their Effect on Human Fibroblasts

Analysis of the solvent’s effect on phenolics extraction yield in flax shives. Prior to the extraction the alkaline hydrolysis with 2 M NaOH at 65°C for 24 h was performed, and each sample was acidified to pH = 3 and underwent extraction with ethyl acetate, diethyl ether : ethyl acetate, 1 : 1, or diethyl ether.
