Effect of Shin’iseihaito (Xinyiqingfeitang) on Acute Streptococcus pneumoniae Murine Sinusitis via Macrophage Activation

Protocols for the prophylactic (a) and therapeutic (b) experiments of S. pneumoniae-induced murine sinusitis model. In infected group, 1 × 10⁷ CFU bacteria were injected into both nostrils of mice using a 29-gauge needle at day 0. In the SSHT-treated group, mice were gavaged with Shin’iseihaito extract (SSHT) (2.9 g/kg body weight (bw))/day.
