extract: freeze-dried extract prepared from A. satureioides decoction. -dried or spray-dried extracts prepared from A. satureioides extractive solution were obtained by macerating inflorescences in 80% ethanol. All extractive solutions were prepared using a plant : solvent ratio of 7.5% (w/v). Spray-dried extracts contained 50% extractives, 33.4% colloidal silicon dioxide, and 16.6% polysorbate 80; excipient percentages were considered in the analysis. Different letters in the same column indicate significant differences (P < 0.05) determined by Tukey’s test of nutritional composition between extracts and the A. satureioides inflorescences.
