Helicteric Acid, Oleanic Acid, and Betulinic Acid, Three Triterpenes from Helicteres angustifolia L., Inhibit Proliferation and Induce Apoptosis in HT-29 Colorectal Cancer Cells via Suppressing NF-κB and STAT3 Signaling

Figure 2

Treatment with HT extracts inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis. (a–c) Cells were treated with HT extracts at the indicated concentrations for 48 or 72 h and CCK-8 cell proliferation assay was performed (/group). (d–f) Cells were treated with HT extracts at the indicated concentrations for 48 of 72 h and the percentage of apoptotic cells was determined by flow cytometry using Annexin V/PI staining (/group). (g) Cells were treated with HT extracts at the indicated concentrations for 1 h prior to stimulation with LPS (1 μg/mL) for 24 h and IL-6 in the supernatants was determined by ELISA. Data are expressed as means ± SD. versus untreated control group.
