The induction (a) and duration (b) of total sleeping time induced by sodium pentobarbital (SPT, 30 mg/kg, i.p.) were calculated for Wistar rats previously treated with vehicle (saline); M. spicata (1000 mg/Kg, p.o.); and P. major (1000 mg/Kg, p.o.). Results are expressed as mean ± S.E.M. (n=5). P<0.0001 ANOVA is significantly different compared with the control group.
