<i>Momordica charantia</i> (Indian and Chinese Bitter Melon) Extracts Inducing Apoptosis in Human Lung Cancer Cell Line A549 via ROS-Mediated Mitochodria Injury

<div>Cell apoptosis observed using Hoechst 33358 staining. A549 cells were treated with<i> M. charantia</i> extracts for 24 hrs. Treated A549 cells exhibited morphological changes in the nuclei with stronger blue fluorescence (typical of apoptosis) than non-apoptotic cell. Photographs were taken under a fluorescence microscope (200×, original magnification). The yellow arrows represent apoptotic cells.</div>
