Fermented Garlic Ameliorates Hypercholesterolemia and Inhibits Platelet Activation

Figure 2

Fermented garlic inhibits agonist-stimulated platelet aggregation and granule secretion. (a, b) Washed platelets obtained from the normal chow (normal), high cholesterol diet (control), garlic, fermented garlic (F. garlic), and spirulina groups were incubated at 37°C with continuous stirring and stimulated with collagen or ADP for 5 min. (c) Washed platelets were incubated at 37°C with continuous stirring and stimulated with collagen or ADP for 5 min. Following the termination of the platelet aggregation reaction, the concentration of ATP was assessed using a luminometer. The results are presented as the mean ± SD (n = 5). compared with the control.
