Notes: The curative effects in the auricular electroacupuncture group were significantly higher than those in the control group (, χ² test). Thirty patients received auricular electroacupuncture at “Shenmen” and “Xin” points, by connecting to an electric acupuncture apparatus with 1 Hz current to make the external ear tremble slightly. The needles were left in place for 30 minutes for each session. The method was performed once a day, alternating between both ears. All 89 patients received base treatment.
