Targeting Ovarian Cancer Cell Cytotoxic Drug Resistance Phenotype with Xanthium strumarium L. Extract

XFC triggers late apoptosis and necrosis in SKOV-3 ovarian cancer cells. Human ovarian adenocarcinoma (SKOV-3) cells were cultured as described in Section 2. Treatment with various concentrations of XFC was performed in serum-free media for 24 or 48 hours, followed by fixation, PI staining, and (a) data acquisition by flow cytometry, as described in Section 2 to assess cell death phases. (b) Data analysis was also performed as described in Section 2 in order to assess levels of live cells, early apoptosis, late apoptosis, and necrosis stages.
