Cytostatic and Antiproliferative Activities of F5 Fraction of Crinum amabile Leaf Chloroform Extract Showed Its Potential as Cancer Chemotherapeutic Agent

Figure 4

Gel electrophoresis showed DNA laddering formation of F5 fraction, 5-FU, and tamoxifen on MCF-7 cells, treated at and double , for different treatment periods (24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 hours), during DNA fragmentation assay. Lane M: standard molecular size marker. At 24 hours of treatment, Lanes 1 and 2: tamoxifen, 30 μg/mL. At 72 hours of treatment, Lane 3: F5 fraction, 25 μg/mL, Lane 4: 5-FU, 5 μg/mL, Lane 5: 1% DMSO, Lane 6: F5 Fraction, 50 μg/mL, Lane 7: 5-FU, 10 μg/mL, and Lane 8: 1% DMSO. At 96 hours of treatment, Lane 9: F5 fraction, 25 μg/mL, Lane 10: 5-FU, 5 μg/mL, Lane 11: 1% DMSO, Lane 12: F5 Fraction, 50 μg/mL, and Lane 13: 5-FU, 10 μg/mL. At 120 hours of treatment, Lane 14: F5 Fraction, 25 μg/mL, Lane 15: 5-FU, 5 μg/mL, Lane 16: F5 Fraction, 50 μg/mL, Lane 17: 5-FU, 10 μg/mL, and Lane 18: 1% DMSO.
