Pharmacological Activity of Eriodictyol: The Major Natural Polyphenolic Flavanone

<div>Neuroprotective effects of eriodictyol. Eriodictyol is reported to provide protection via its antioxidant nature by activation of Nrf2/HO-1 cytoprotective pathway. Moreover, Nrf2/HO-1 pathway protects H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced neurotoxicity in prostate cancer cells (PC12), and amyloid-<i>β</i> in neurons, while having anti-inflammatory effects involving MAPK, NF-<i>κ</i>B pathway.</div>
