Effects of shikonin on inhibiting proinflammatory cytokine and chemokine expression. Dendritic cells isolated from patients with AD and incubated with 1.5 g/mL of Der p 2; 1.5 g/mL of Der p 2 and 0.05 g/mL of shikonin; and 1.5 g/mL of Der p 2 and 10−7 M dexamethasone for 24 hours. Culture supernatants were collected, and cytokine and chemokine expression were measured using the multiplex assay system.
