Maren Pills Improve Constipation via Regulating AQP3 and NF-<i>κ</i>B Signaling Pathway in Slow Transit Constipation In Vitro and In Vivo

<div>Effect of Maren pills on the expression of AQP3, CFTR, and PKA proteins in the colon of rats. (a) Maren pills dose-dependently (1, 0.5, and 0.25 g/kg) increased the expression of AQP3, CFTR, and PKA proteins compared with the model group. (b) The localization of AQP3 (green) in both the apical and lateral mucosal epithelial cells in the colons of STC rats and normal rats was determined by immunofluorescence staining. Cell nuclei (blue) were stained with DAPI (scale bar, 20 <i>µ</i>m).
