Sa/DDP induces the apoptosis of the HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells. (a) The HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells coincubated with Sa (0, 200, 400, and 600 µM) and 5 µM DDP for 72 h were observed for the morphological changes and the Hoechst (blue) staining by using a fluorescence microscope (40x magnification). (b) The percentage of apoptosis of HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells coincubated with Sa (0, 200, 400, and 600 µM) and 5 µM DDP for 72 h was evaluated by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining and flow cytometric analysis.
