Botanical from Piper capense Fruit Can Help to Combat the Melanoma as Demonstrated by In Vitro and In Vivo Studies

Cytotoxic effect of PCFE in B16-F10 cells. The percentage viability of PCFE-treated B16-F10 cells was calculated as OD of the drug-treated sample/OD of the nontreated sample × 100 (a). IC50 of melanoma cells treated with increasing concentration of PCFE was calculated as 47.38 µg/ml (b). PCFE alone and in combination with dacarbazine significantly induced inhibition of colony formation and development of B16-F10 cells in vitro (c, d). Statistical significance of each treatment group with untreated control is analyzed by one-way ANOVA test (ANOVA <0.0001) followed by post hoc Tukey’s test. Data are represented as mean ± SD of triplicate determinations from their independent experiments with value <0.05, value <0.01, and value <0.0001 versus untreated control and among each group.
