Vasorelaxant and Antioxidant Effects of <i>Aframomum pruinosum</i> Gagnep. (Zingiberaceae) Seed Extracts May Mediate Their Cardioprotective Activity against Isoproterenol-Induced Myocardial Infarction

<div>The aqueous (AE) and ethanolic extracts (EE) from <i>Aframomum pruinosum</i> seeds induced concentration-dependent vasorelaxation of thoracic aorta rings precontracted with noradrenaline (panel (a)). The effects of the plant extracts were tested in the presence (+endo) or absence (−endo) of a functional endothelium or N<sup><i>ω</i></sup>-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME); panels (b) and (c).
