Botanicals in Dietary Supplements
Description
Historically, the importance of botanicals has been nothing short of remarkable, particularly as the current market shows a continued increase in their use as dietary supplements in the US, herbal medicinal products and food supplements in the EU, and as traditional medicines, modern herbal drugs, and health supplements in Asian countries. The continuing research and development of herbal products for over two centuries have been the cornerstone for the development of the botanicals from ancient traditional medicine to herbal medicinal products, food supplements, dietary supplements, and modern herbal drugs. The increased knowledge of botanicals raises the quality and safety and reveals the new indications of the botanical products. We invite the researchers to contribute original and review articles in different fields of botanicals. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Pharmacology/bioactivity/toxicology
- Phytochemistry/pharmacognosy
- Biotechnology/plant tissue culture
- Quantitative analysis
- Physiology/biochemistry/molecular biology
- Clinical study
- Ethnobotany/ethnopharmacology
- Pharmaceutics
- Pharmacokinetics and bioavailability
- Microbiology
- Food sciences
