Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is a traditional therapy other than modern western medicine. It includes meditation, hypnosis, tai chi, massage, aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and acupuncture. Various approaches of CAM have been used in a manner as complementary to current medical treatment or in as standalone therapy which relies on CAM as standard medical care in some countries.
Female reproduction is a complex process tightly controlled by endocrinology. Female reproductive endocrine diseases include infertility, perimenopausal syndrome, miscarriage, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc. Although CAM has been widely used in female reproductive endocrine disorders, the safety and effectiveness of CAM has not been fully evaluated. To address this gap, CAM for female reproductive endocrine diseases should be evaluated by scientific research methods.
This Special Issue invites research clinicians and scientists to submit original articles as well as reviews or study protocols providing a comprehensive overview and high-quality research of CAM for female reproductive endocrine disorders. The work can evaluate the efficacy and safety of CAM for any kind of female reproductive endocrine disorder. There are no specifications or limitations on the type of studies, as long as methodologies of CAM are used in the study, including meditation, hypnosis, tai chi, massage, aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and acupuncture.
