Efficacy of Herbal Drugs in Human Diseases and Disorders
Description
Herbal drugs and their constituents have beneficial effects on long-term health and can be used to effectively treat human diseases or disorders. Bringing into play, herbs are often more affordable than purchasing expensive modern pharmaceuticals to treat diseases and disorders. As per estimate by WHO, more than three-fourth of the population of third world countries exploits herbal medicine for their primary health care. Latest advances in biology and medicine have introduced new technologies to study the biological significance of herbal drugs in various diseases and disorders. Knowledge and better understanding of herbal drug action will lead to the development of successful therapies and provide better care to the sufferers. We therefore invite investigators to contribute to original research articles as well as review articles that will excite the enduring efforts to comprehend the significance of herbal drugs.
We are particularly interested in articles describing the new modalities for portraying use of herbal drugs in traditional system of medicine; its application in the treatment of various diseases and disorders; recent perceptions and its role in the process of drug discovery, development, and therapeutic strategies. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Herbal drugs as nutraceuticals and/or pharmacological agents
- Herbal drugs in disease prevention and management
- Biochemical and Molecular mechanisms and applications of herbal drugs
- Role of herbal drugs in drug discovery and development
- Herb-drug interaction studies and RCTs
- Randomized control trials in herbal drug research
